VTC iMedia is a utility software for mobile phones, integrating value-added services that cater to the youth, such as music, images, mobile games, news, football, lottery, stock market, locations, dictionaries, shopping guides, and more.

Among the numerous products released prior to the 3G era, VTC iMedia stands out for its impressive range of services, reasonable pricing, and notably, user-friendly operations.

The product is the result of a collaboration between VTC Intecom, the best digital content enterprise in 2008, and Naiscorp, a renowned technology company specializing in search and data processing in Vietnam, known for its brand www.socbay.com. The partnership between these two companies has brought about a breakthrough for the VTC iMedia product in the current digital content market in Vietnam.

Naiscorp is a pioneering company in the field of mobile search and data processing in Vietnam.

Socbay Mobile Search (S.M.S) - Naiscorp's mobile search software - was researched and developed starting from August 2008.

In March 2009, S.M.S version 1.0 began its trial run.

In May 2009, S.M.S version 2.0 was launched.

Up to now, S.M.S has been downloaded over 200,000 times.

S.M.S version 3.0 is scheduled to be released in September 2009.

Ms. Tran Thanh Hang, Head of Value-added Services at VTC Mobile, stated that on VTC iMedia, the Mp3 streaming technology was first applied on mobile phones in Vietnam, allowing users to listen to online Mp3 music and download music at high speeds. The direct download feature on mobile phones enables users to download services directly on their devices without the need for premium rate messages. The music and image preview function allows users to check the quality of the service before deciding to use it. Additionally, there is also a search function available on mobile phones.

The initial success of the product partially affirms the new trend of collaboration between content businesses and technology providers in the digital content field in Vietnam. According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Director of Vietnam Data Communications Company (VDC1), collaboration is necessary to enhance the competitiveness of each business in the fiercely competitive race for market dominance, particularly in the telecommunications services and mobile value-added services industry.

Regarding the collaboration between Naiscorp and VTC Intecom, Mr. Vo Tu Duc, Business Director of Naiscorp, mentioned that Naiscorp is responsible for the construction and development of the underlying technology of the product, such as interface design, search technology, Vietnamese language processing, specialized data processing for mobile, etc. On the other hand, VTC is responsible for providing content and business exploitation.

Currently, there are only three products on the market that provide mobile search functionality: Socbay Mobile Search by Naiscorp, Vinasearch by Vinaphone, and VTC iMedia by VTC. All three products are built on Socbay technology.
